Alias: Nitrogen-containing polyol phosphate ester, PAE Structural formula:
I. Properties and Applications Polyol phosphate ester is a novel water treatment agent with excellent scale inhibition and corrosion inhibition properties. The introduction of multiple polyoxyethylene groups into the molecule not only enhances corrosion inhibition but also improves scale inhibition against calcium deposits and dispersibility for sediments. It exhibits superior inhibition against barium and strontium scale deposition, which are uncontrollable by domestic scale inhibitors, and demonstrates excellent scale inhibition for difficult-to-dissolve salts such as calcium carbonate and calcium sulfate in water. It provides cathodic protection for steel, with corrosion inhibition effects surpassing those of similar domestic products. Polyol phosphate ester is highly compatible with water stabilizers including polycarboxylates, organic phosphonates, inorganic phosphates, and zinc salts. Polyol phosphate ester is used as a scale inhibitor for oilfield water injection and extraction (highly recommended as a substitute for Nalco Visco 953) and as a corrosion and scale inhibitor for industrial cooling water treatment. II. Technical Specifications Item | Specification | Appearance | Colorless or yellow transparent liquid | Solid content % ≥ | 50.0 | Total phosphorus content (as PO43-), % ≥ | 30.0 | Organic phosphorus content (as PO43-), % ≥ | 15.0 | pH (1% aqueous solution) | 2.0 - 3.0 |
III. Usage and Dosage Dosage varies depending on water quality and process conditions. As a scale inhibitor, the typical dosage of polyol phosphate ester is less than 15 mg/L. When used as a closed-cycle corrosion inhibitor, the dosage can be as high as 150 mg/L or more. IV. Safety Precautions Polyol phosphate ester is an acidic liquid. Pay attention to labor protection during operation. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. In case of contact, rinse thoroughly with plenty of water. V. Packaging and Storage Polyol phosphate ester is packaged in plastic drums, with a net weight of 25 kg or 200 kg per drum. Store in a cool, dry place. The shelf life is twelve months. |
